Dosage & Method

The recommended dose for an adult is nearly always two fully heaped teaspoons once a day.

Option One: Simply put the Greens into a smoothie and drink! The powders will make the smoothie thicker than usual but some find this the simplest and easiest way to take the Life Greens.

Option Two: Start with a large dry cup and a dry teaspoon. Put the Greens into the dry cup before adding water. Pour a small amount of water, perhaps about a quarter of a cup over the powder then quickly and thoroughly mix until the Life Greens are dissolved. Then add the rest of the water to fill the cup whilst still stirring. Make sure the water is at a temperature that is easy to drink quickly. Life Greens don't taste bad but will get thicker the longer you take to drink them... drink fast!

Ingredients

~ The Greens
The 'Greens' are what give the medicine its striking colour. These are Nature's super-foods; containing high levels of easily absorbable nutrients. Life-Greens contains certified organic Barley Leaf, Alfalfa Leaf, Chlorella, Wheat Grass, Spirulina & Kelp.

~ Slippery Elm
Many people have a chronic and low grade damage to their gut lining. The extreme end of this problem is an ulcer but far more common are tiny holes and tears in the delicate lining of the digestive tract.Slippery Elm is a literal internal bandage that spreads a soft, healing surface over these damaged areas.

Slippery Elm has been famous in medicine for many centuries because of its unique ability to bandage a wounded gut. It has consequently become an endangered herb and must be used responsibly to ensure its survival for generations to come. Our Slippery Elm powder is always certified 'sustainably harvested'

Ulmus fulva (Slippery Elm)

~ Psyllium hulls
When mixed with water Psyllium turns into a gentle fibrous ‘brush’ that massages through the bowel. Over time this has the effect of cleansing the gut and helping it to renew with healthy tissue. Psyllium has a normalising effect on gut function and is a unique substance in that it can be used to beneficially treat both diarrhoea and constipation.

~ Magnesium
Magnesium has numerous benefits to the body including reducing excess muscular tension and nervous tension. Many people lack magnesium and have symptoms related to tension and tightening as a result. This is not a nutrient that needs to be taken for long to have a benefit. If someone has been deficient in Magnesium then they will quickly (within a few days or less) start noticing a positive improvement after some supplementation.

~ Vitamin C
Vitamin C is essential for healthy immunity and for helping to replace damaged tissues. Our bodies use up Vitamin C in increasing amounts when we are under stress or resisting infections. The Vit C in the Life Greens is non-acidic and combined with bioflavonoids to be safe to take for extended periods if needed.

~ Probiotics
In recent years there has been an explosion of interest and understanding in the need for good bacteria in our digestive tracts. When people are lacking these bacteria their digestion of food is inadequate, their immune systems are weakened and they become nutritionally compromised. Research in recent years has even shown that the bacteria in our guts even has a powerful effect on our moods (an article with more info on this is here)

Treatment Length

Sometimes the only way to know for sure if you still need a medicine is when you finish it and your body tells you whether it needs more or not. Follow up appointments also help us know when to stop and when to keep going.
For some people it will be sufficient to take a single course of Life Greens, others will need to take it for longer.

Effects

The majority of people who take Life Greens find it to have a pleasant tonic effect on their energy and a gentle cleansing effect on their bowel.

This is not a medicine that has been seen to cause allergic or adverse reactions but some people will get some bloating and abdominal discomfort when they first start taking the Life Greens. This is likely due to a combination of an increase in the usual amount of fibre in the diet and/or the new bacteria in the medicine causing a disruption to the existing flora in the gut. Any such discomfort should resolve itself within a matter of a few days. For more on the important subject of dysbiosis - read here
